Yorkshire Bank News Update: YB40 Draws to a Close

Yorkshire Bank News Update: Cricket’s limited overs format sponsored by Yorkshire Bank and affectionately titled YB40 will wind down over the next month.

The English domestic cricket season offers fans the chance to witness all three formats of the great game: the traditional four day match that tests the stamina and skill of the teams, the forty over format that demands batsmen and bowlers hone their skills and up their game to put up a large total in a short amount of time. Finally, there is the twenty over format that means hitting the ball as hard and far as you can to get the maximum number of runs in the shortest period of time.

The middle format – forty overs for each side – is sponsored by the bank chain Yorkshire Bank. They are part of the Clydesdale Bank group and until 2012 the series was titled CB40. This year has seen some fantastic cricket and with YB40 splashed all over the stands, boards and with extra advertising offering children free tickets during the school holidays the bank is getting plenty of exposure.

Throughout the season we have seen games turned on their heads during the closing overs, sides lose when it looked like they were likely to stroll to an easy win, players excel in every element of the game and the series still has a month left! With Sky Sports offering coverage of most of the games and the scheduling making sure the games are often played in the evenings so they can bring in as many spectators as possible the games are getting an unprecedented amount of interest.

With 24 games still scheduled to be played before the semi-finals take place on the 7th and 9th of September, and the final on the 21st, there is still plenty of cricket to be played over the next month and the group leaders could still change dramatically. There are three groups and with Nottinghamshire, Hampshire and Somerset currently leading each group the final and semi finals could prove to be very exciting – especially as Hampshire are reigning champions in both the forty and twenty over formats.

Yorkshire Bank are one of the largest banks in the country and have thousands of customers already so their customer services department can be somewhat inundated with enquiries, but whether you’re interested in banking with them or finding out more information about the county cricket season, their team of customer service advisors are ready and waiting to answer your call today.
