Sony News Update: Compact Version of Z1 Released

Compact Z1 Sony Experia

Sony news update: The Sony Xperia family has a new addition and it’s a compacted version of their flagship Z1 as they strive to remain relevant in the market.

The mobile phone market is somewhat dominated these days and therefore some companies have had to readjust their strategies in order to remain relevant. There are some companies who have struggled to do this and have simply remembered the days when they were the most popular phone but what is fashionable is fickle and easy to sway; Sony Xperia are launching their latest phone in order to remain current.

“Sony has condensed its flagship Xperia Z1 smartphone announced earlier this year, into a more comfortable size for the general market. Announced at an DoCoMo event, the Xperia Z1F (aka the Xperia Z1 Mini) packs a 4.3-inch 720P display, headed to only the Japanese market for now.

The Xperia Z1F doesn’t vary too far away from the Xperia Z1, keeping pretty powerful specifications underneath while weighing a somewhat hefty 140g. You’ll find a 20.1-megapixel “G Lens” camera, powerful quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, NFC, Qi wireless charging, and 2300mAh battery.

It will be available in four colours: lime, black, white, and pink. Android 4.2 is found powering the device, with Sony’s custom skin thrown on top – whether you like it or not.

Surprisingly, DoCoMo and Sony don’t have plans to release the device until December. In the meantime, we’ll work to get more information for Sony’s worldwide plans with this device.

Smaller versions of flagships have been a bandwagon for smartphone makers in recent months. It helps the company offer another version of their flagships for customers who don’t want such a large phone in their pocket. For instance, the Xperia Z1 comes in at a large 5-inches, which some may see as too large. The 4.3-inch display on the Z1F may pick up Sony a few more customers, and not spare any raw power when it comes to internals.”

More information on any of the products that Sony offer can be found either at or by contacting their customer services department. The team who man the phones at Sony’s customer services are dedicated to offering the best service possible and therefore ensure that they have at the absolute minimum the ability to track the relevant information down quickly and efficiently.
