Sony’s latest range of Bravia TVs is now available to buy, having first been showcased at CES 2013 earlier this year.

The Bravia W-Series HDTV range hit stores at the end of April and includes several LED TVs, with the Sony Bravia W9 series as Sony’s flagship product.

“Sony continues to deliver pioneering technology to consumers, providing superb picture quality with rich, vibrant images that bring TV to life,” commented Sony Europe Home Entertainment senior product manager Kentaro Matsumoto.

“This year, Sony leads its unique audio technologies to the television line, along with engaging experiences such as one-touch mirroring that instantly lets views show content from their NFC-enabled phones to the big screen.”

The Bravia W-Series boasts a whole range of features, although the new TVs will not be capable of 4k resolutions. All come with Sony’s X-Reality Pro picture processor, giving “unprecedented detail and astonishing colour”, as well as Sony Motionflow XR technology to keep up with fast-paced viewing of action movies or gaming.

At the top of the range the W9 TV model has a Triluminos display with LED backlighting and integrated Quantum Dot technology for more lifelike images and a bigger range of colours. Furthermore, a long duct speaker is incorporated into the slimline design with additional support for bass and low to mid-range sounds.

Both this model and the W8 come with a One-touch of NFC remote and are compativle with 3D and TV SideView.

All TVs in the Bravia W-Series are pre-installed with the Sony Entertainment network, giving viewers access to Sony Music and Video Unlimited, on-demand services like BBC iPlayer and LoveFilm, plus access to social media and messaging apps including Facebook, Skype and YouTube.

The basic W6 TV costs from £550 and is available in 32-inch and 42-inch screen sizes. The W8 model is £1,000 with 55-inch, 47-inch and 42-inch screens. And the top W9 TV is £1,400 and available with a 50-inch, 56-inch or 40-inch screen.

For those who like to make the most of their in-home entertainment systems the new Sony Bravia W-Series could be an excellent choice when looking for a new TV. Whether watching the latest blockbusters, fighting the bad guys in a new game or simply relaxing with the family in front of the night’s soaps, Sony’s TVs offer excellent picture and sound quality with a whole host of additional features that showcase the very latest technologies and capabilities.
