O2 News Update: 4G to be switched on in London
O2 news update: O2 have recently announced that that they will host a multi-platform gig, to celebrate the launch of their new 4G network on August 29th.
O2 are planning to live stream a gig starring award winning artist Plan B, to multiple screens across London on August 29th in celebration of their new 4G network being launched. Plan B will main act in this city first event. He will perform from the renowned London venue; O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. This independent event will be streamed through three major media locations within London; The Wall at Shepherds Bush, Victoria Station and Kings Cross station. During the day, O2 4G angels will be showing off the capabilities of the O2 4G network at each of the three locations. By doing this O2 can show off how easy it is for the public to bring brilliant entertainment to life at a local level or on the move. Buskers shall also perform on special stations around London and will play publically selected songs by responding the twitter requests under the hash tag #O24G. Plan B content shall be broadcast into O2 stores around London and treats given to customers to further promote the launch of the new 4G network. Specially selected stores will open at a later open hours to accompany the Plan B concert. The concert shall commence at 8pm to an audience of 2,000 within the Shepherds Bush Empire and to the expected large crowds at the three select locations. Members of the public with tickets at the venues will be provided with headphones of they can experience in a silent live streamed disco. Members of the public who wish to take part in the event but are not in London can watch the gig through YouTube and O2’s social media pages.
O2 is currently working with; Wayra to help the start and set-up of the project, Eentstagram, who will broadcast the live feedon the specially placed screens around London and Soundhalo who will stream the live HD feed to the screens around London. As well Soundhalo are responsible for filming and recording the show so create an exclusive product for the O2 Priority Moments customers. Tickets are available to O2 customers 48 hours before release to other members of the public from 9am Wednesday 21st ~August by going to www.o2priority.co.uk. The general public will have to wait until 9am on Friday 23rd. at the event there will be other unique attractions such as lightening fast O2 4G cocktail bars to provide entertainment and demonstrate 4G’s capabilities.
