Emirates News Update: Opens Interactive Museum

Often, trips to London comprise of traditional visits to places such as Tate Modern, Westminster, Buckingham Palace. Now, tourists have the opportunity to visit an interactive museum built and designed by Emirates. This museum is complete with four flight simulators. Complete with a gift shop, this museum really does seem like the full deal.

A trip to London need not be filled with the usual Royal tours, high tea and Big Ben. Thanks to Emirates, visitors to Emirates Air Line, the recently opened cable car from the Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Docks, will now be able to learn how modern aviation brought them to the foreign city. Remember when the airline renamed two stations?

Just yesterday, the airline opened their Emirates Aviation Experience on the south end of the cable line. The 300-square meter facility will host interactive exhibits teaching visitors how awesome aviation is; it’s so hands-on that within the experience are four flight simulators so you may try your own hand at flying a Airbus A380 or a Boeing 777.

For those big kids who want to see how planes fly, there is a virtual wind tunnel application, a LEGO replica of a Rolls-Royce Trent 800 engine, and a mock-up of an A380 Economy Class seating area with a range of aviation-themed videos utilizing Emirates’ entertainment system.

No exhibit would be complete without a visit to the gift shop. The interactive museum will not only feature a retail store to pick-up some unique airline-inspired souvenirs, but will also host a cafe if you’ve spent too much time wandering the halls. At £3 entry fee for an adult and £1.50 for children under 12, we can handle a tacky gift shop. This price doesn’t include the simulator experience, where that will set you back £40 for 30 minutes of ‘flying’ time.

The Dubai-based airline company are certainly making their mark in Europe,as they just open an interactive aviation museum in London. This is likely to boost the company’s reputation and maybe act as a flagship project. To check out more, visit the Emirates website.
