A third of men and nearly half of women who were asked if they fancied a footie match as a first date have said that they would. Supporters of Birmingham City have voted their ground a very romantic venue with 72% voting for its passionate potential. Stoke City fans however were not as convinced by the potential for romance at their ground and only fourteen per cent saw it as a great place to have a first date.

Capital One surveyed 100 fans as they launched the Capital One two for one promotion that will allow nearly 10,000 supporters to purchase two tickets and pay for only one during the opening rounds of the Capital One Cup. However, of those who will be attending matches, most have said that their preferred companion for the match would be a group of mates and the preferred place to be would be the stands. At Chelsea the trend is for more couples to attend a match together. As to what age is the most popular to start attending a football game then it turns out that Sunderland supporters are the most ardent with many youngsters attending their first game before they are eight years old.
Capital One are the sponsors of The Football League Cup and they are giving the fans of the clubs that are participating in the competition the chance to have an extra match ticket for free when they buy their own ticket. The promotion will be in operation over the first two rounds of the competition.
The credit card company know that fans attend and enjoy their football in many different ways and they are happy to be supplying the codes that can be used with the promotion and that can be found in the local press and on local radio. All the supporter has to do is quote the number when they buy a ticket and they will automatically have a second ticket for free. Capital One have said that they are delighted to boost the fans support for their local clubs by issuing the free tickets and that they hoped that the season would be enjoyed by some new fans who have been tempted in by the free ticket offer.
